Located in southwest Utah, Zion National Park is renowned for its towering sandstone mountains, diverse ecosystems, and unique geological formations. The stunning scenery and numerous oppotunities for adventure make this one of the most popular US National Parks.
The Virgin River carves its way through most of the park, sculpting the red sandstone into the majestic Zion Canyon that we see today. Along its route are several trailheads that lead to places such as the Emerald Pools or the iconic Angels Landing plateau.
Zion Canyon Scenic Drive follows the river from the park entrance to Temple of Sinawava, and is the only road inside the park. At the far end of the road you’ll find The Narrows, a thrilling hike that requires wading and swimming through an immense gorge.
The park is accessible year round, but experiences scorching heat in the summer months and the occassional snowfall in the winter. Spring and autumn are wonderful times to visit the park as it transforms seasons and provides pleasant weather.
