FIJI
Located in the South Pacific, Fiji is a tropical paradise boasting pristine beaches, rich cultural history, and warm hospitality. The country contains more than 300 individual islands and is a popular place for adventure seekers, beach lovers, and those looking for an introduction into the Fijian way of life.
Most journeys begin in the city of Nadi, found on Fiji’s largest island, Viti Levu. Here you can explore bustling city markets and visit some notable historical landmarks, such as Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple. The temple offers insight into Fijian Hindu culture and is a popular tourist attraction.
Migrate toward the Coral Coast and explore the Sigatoka Sand Dunes and Kula Eco Park, where you can enjoy a traditional “Lovo” feast. Finally, head to Fiji’s capital city of Suva to get an introduction into Fiji’s complex colonial past by touring museums and government buildings.
From there, take a ferry or scenic flight to the Mamanuca Islands, renowned for their turquoise waters, breathtaking beaches, and vibrant coral reefs. Don’t miss Castaway Island, the filming site of the famous Tom Hanks film and the iconic Cloudbreak surf spot if you’re into watersports.
Venture to the remote Yasawa Islands for seclusion and a serene holiday experience. You’ll get a more authentic Fijian experience by hiking some of the islands’ challenging trail and exploring local villages. The Yasawa Islands are also home to world-class snorkeling and diving locations. The Blue Lagoon, with its crystal-clear waters, is the perfect spot for swimming and relaxation.
Whether you’re hoping to explore coral reefs with diverse marine life, pursue challenging hikes, learn about Polynesian culture, or just relax on a beautiful beach, there’s something for everyone in Fiji.
