MONACO

MONACO

Set along the Mediterranean on the French Riviera, Monaco is compact but layered, making it easy to explore in a short amount of time. The historic district of Monaco-Ville sits on a rocky promontory, where narrow streets, small squares, and viewpoints offer a quieter contrast to the rest of the city. Nearby, the Prince’s Palace anchors the area, while paths along the cliffs provide wide views over the sea.

Below, Port Hercules forms the center of activity, lined with restaurants and filled with yachts that highlight Monaco’s reputation for luxury. Walking along the harbor is one of the easiest ways to take in the setting, especially in the early morning or evening. From there, it’s a short climb or elevator ride up to the Monte Carlo Casino district, where landscaped gardens, historic buildings, and high-end boutiques define the atmosphere.

Despite its upscale image, Monaco is surprisingly accessible, with public elevators and well-maintained paths connecting different levels of the city. For a quieter break, the Jardin Exotique de Monaco offers panoramic views and a unique collection of plants set above the coastline.

Because of its size, Monaco works well as a day trip or short stay, offering a mix of history, scenery, and coastal views without requiring extensive travel time.
